Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our long-term care team. The successful candidate will provide essential assistance to residents, ensuring their comfort and well-being in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
• Monitor and document patient vital signs and report any changes to the nursing staff.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to residents.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to resident care plans.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid CNA license in another state; Alaska CNA license can be pending if the application has been submitted.
• Completion of a formal CNA training program with evidence of certification or transcripts.
• Minimum of one year of experience in long-term care environments.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Employment Details

• Start Date: ASAP
• Shift: 4x12 hour shifts; either days or nights based on facility needs.
• Contract Duration: 26 or 13 weeks based on traveler’s choice.
• Caregiver Ratio: 1:20
• Guaranteed Hours: 72 hours per 2 weeks, with the possibility of being called off for one 12-hour shift every two weeks.

Additional Requirements

• All caregivers must obtain Alaska Food Worker Certification during orientation—fee applies.
• Must be willing to float within scope to meet facility needs.
• Must submit all requested time-off (RTO) with application; no more than 2 weeks of RTO will be considered for a 26-week contract.
