Registered Nurse - Cancer Center

The Registered Nurse collaborates with healthcare team members, plans and implements patient and family education, and is accountable for assessing patient needs and initiating appropriate interventions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN, ASN, AAS, AAN)
  • Current Montana Licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN, BAN)
  • Oncology Certified Nurse
  • Experience in outpatient clinics
  • Familiarity with electronic health record systems

Essential Job Functions

  • Collect comprehensive data pertinent to patient health (Assessment)
  • Analyze assessment data to determine diagnoses or issues (Diagnosis)
  • Identify expected outcomes tailored to the patient's needs
  • Develop and implement a plan that describes strategies to achieve expected outcomes (Plan of Care)
  • Employ strategies to promote patient health and maintain a safe environment
  • Enhance the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice
  • Maintain knowledge and competency reflecting current nursing practices
  • Evaluate personal nursing practice against professional standards and guidelines
  • Contribute to the professional development of peers and colleagues
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and others in nursing practice
  • Integrate ethical provisions in all areas of practice
  • Utilize research findings in practice
  • Provide leadership within the professional nursing setting

Schedule Requirements

This position requires regular attendance and may necessitate working beyond the typical 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts. Flexibility is essential to respond to organizational, patient, or employee needs.

Physical Requirements

  • Lifting (up to 50 pounds) is required
  • Standing and walking for extended periods
  • Sitting occasionally
  • Climbing, twisting, bending, stooping, and kneeling as necessary
  • Reaching above shoulder level repeatedly
  • Fine finger movements required continuously
  • Visual acuity for data analysis and reading
  • Strong cognitive skills for task completion and independent decision-making

Exposures
