Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (RN)

Shift Information

Night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with additional call responsibilities.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive nursing care in a critical care environment. Our unit specializes in the care of post-surgical patients, as well as those with complex medical conditions, including but not limited to respiratory failure, unstable arrhythmias, sepsis, diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), acute kidney injury (AKI), and cardiac catheterization recovery.

Responsibilities

• Perform critical care nursing assessments and interventions.
• Initiate, titrate, and manage medications, including vasopressors, thrombolytics, antihypertensives, antidiabetics, and sedation.
• Provide ventilator management and support.
• Monitor hemodynamics and telemetry, including interpretation of results.
• Manage sepsis protocols and interventions.
• Oversee central line and arterial line management.
• Administer care related to chest tubes and blood transfusions.

• Bedside cardiac monitors
• Mechanical ventilators
• BiPAP/CPAP
• High-flow nasal cannula
• Bladder scanner

Patient Ratios

• Critical care: 2:1
• Step Down: 4:1
• Standard: 6:1

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in critical care nursing.
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS/BCLS, PALS.
• Ability to float to Med/Surg, Telemetry, Step-Down, and Observation units as needed.
• Availability for holiday coverage.
