Critical Care/ICU - Registered Nurse

Location: Globe, Arizona
Schedule: 7:00PM - 7:00AM x 3
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $68 - $74/hr

Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a ICU for a temporary assignment in Globe, Arizona. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.

Responsibilities for a ICU:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care in a six-bed Medical/Observation Step-Up Unit (MOSU) for post-surgical patients, post cardiac catheterizations with post PCI, respiratory failure, sepsis, DKA, AKI, and unstable arrhythmias
• Maintain patient care ratios: Critical 2:1, Step Down 4:1, Standard 6:1
• Float to Med/Surg, Tele, Step-Down, and Observation floors as needed
• Work 12-hour shifts including on-call responsibilities
• Initiate, titrate, and manage vasopressors, thrombolytics, antihypertensives, antidiabetics, and sedation
• Manage and monitor patients on mechanical ventilators
• Perform hemodynamic monitoring
• Monitor and interpret telemetry
• Manage sepsis protocols
• Manage central lines and arterial lines
• Manage chest tubes
• Administer blood products
• Operate medication infusion pumps, rapid infusers, bedside cardiac monitors, mechanical ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, and bladder scanners
• Comply with flu vaccine requirement (no exceptions)
• Adhere to a maximum of 3 days of requested time off per 13-week contract
