Registered Nurse – Emergency Department

Schedule

Night shift, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, 36-hour guarantee.

Assignment Details

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license in New York State.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
• Experience with MEDITECH is required.
• Travel experience preferred.
• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Critical care and charge experience is preferred.
• Must be IV, medication, and phlebotomy certified during orientation.
• Must successfully complete lethal dysrhythmia exam during probation and be defibrillation certified within six months.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality patient care and assess patients' needs, including clinical, educational, mental, and spiritual requirements.
• Identify and intervene in life-threatening situations.
• Recognize safety issues for self and others, and implement safe patient handling techniques.
• Function well in stressful situations and demonstrate effective problem-solving skills.
• Exhibit strong leadership skills, with the ability to prioritize and delegate tasks.
• May assume duties as a charge nurse as required.
