Registered Nurse (RN) - PCU

**Title:** Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit **Schedule:** - Rotating schedule: 3x12s, including weekdays and some weekends **Assignment Details:** - Patient population: Adults and geriatrics - Mixed med-surg PCU / step-down care **Requirements:** - Active RN license required (state-specific) - Minimum 2+ years clinical nursing experience - EPIC experience preferred - Certifications: BCLS, IV certification - Core clinical skills: - Start and manage peripheral IVs; maintain IV therapy - Safe medication administration - Telemetry/interpretation of dysrhythmias - PICC and peripheral line management - Experience with chest tubes and bedside procedures - Participation in Rapid Response/Code teams **Roles & Responsibilities:** - Provide nursing care to PCU patients with diverse medical conditions - Monitor patient vital signs and provide appropriate interventions - Administer medications and treatments as prescribed - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care - Educate patients and families regarding health conditions and treatment plans - Document patient care and progress using electronic medical records **Compliance / Notes:** - Orientation: 36 hours - Pre-approved time off: 1 per contract - Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required - Fingerprinting compliance required prior to start - 2 professional references required (1 from a manager/director or formal supervisor)
