Registered Nurse (RN) - OR

**Title**: Registered Nurse - Surgical **Schedule**: Days, M-TH, 36 hrs/week, 9 hrs/Day **Assignment Details**: - Guaranteed Hours: 36 - Contract Weeks: 13 **Requirements**: - Active RN license - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire - Advanced Life Support (ACLS) certification within one year of hire - Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with an Associate, Diploma, or BSN Degree - Multiple years of surgical experience (preferred) - Basic computer skills to navigate Microsoft Windows-based programs **Roles & Responsibilities**: - Provide direct patient care across all age groups, addressing psychosocial, physical, and treatment aspects related to the surgical environment. - Communicate effectively with surgical and anesthesia teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. - Prepare patients for surgery and educate them and their families on pain management and post-operative care. - Maintain surgical equipment, ensure operating room readiness, and assist with inventory management. - Participate in performance improvement activities and meet documentation standards. - Ensure adherence to sterile techniques during procedures and manage specimen handling according to policy. - Provide thorough handoff report to the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) nurse regarding patient condition. **Compliance / Notes**: - Must be available for scheduled call for emergency surgical services.
