**TITLE**
Medical-Surgical Oncology Nurse
**SCHEDULE**
- Nights
- 36 hours per week guaranteed for a 3x12 schedule
- Weekend requirement: 2 shifts every other weekend
**ASSIGNMENT DETAILS**
- Unit size: 28-room Medical-Oncology unit with 2 comfort-care suites
- Daily census: approximately 19
**REQUIREMENTS**
- 2 years of nursing experience required
- EPIC charting experience required
- Certifications: BLS, NIHSS, Fire Safety
- Skills: IV start/maintenance, port access/management, chemotherapy administration and monitoring, telemetry/monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, PCA management
**ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Provide nursing care for adult medical, surgical, and oncology patients
- Administer chemotherapy and monitor patients for adverse reactions
- Perform assessments and develop care plans based on patient needs
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Educate patients and families regarding health conditions and treatments
**COMPLIANCE / NOTES**
- Orientation: 38 hours
- Max 7 days requested time off (RTO) allowed; no RTO during the first week of assignment
- Facial hair must allow proper fit testing for required equipment
- Scrubs color: Navy
