Requirements

• Associate Degree in Nursing or equivalent: Required
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing: Preferred
• One year of acute care experience: Required
• Current RN license in the state of practice: Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor: Required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from an approved vendor: Required
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from an approved vendor: Required
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC): Required within 6 months of hire
• Other certifications as needed: Required

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care, including triage, treatment, and discharge care for Emergency Department patients.
• Complete accurate triage assessment on all patients and notify the Emergency physician of abnormal signs and symptoms.
• Provide medication side effects teaching and include this in discharge instructions.
• Recognize symptoms of cardiac or respiratory distress and provide appropriate interventions.
• Demonstrate competence in routine nursing skills, including medication administration and intravenous therapy.
• Accurately interpret ECG rhythms and manage care during life-threatening emergencies.
