Requirements

• Current RN license in state of practice
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) required within 6 months of hire
• One year of acute care experience required
• Recent experience with EPIC preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate triage assessments and notify the Emergency MD of abnormal signs and symptoms.
• Review and complete patient orders in a timely manner.
• Provide teaching regarding medication side effects to all patients receiving medication in the Emergency Department.
• Recognize symptoms of cardiac or respiratory distress and other emergencies promptly.
• Administer medications and provide interventions for stable and emergent patient situations.
• Accurately interpret ECG rhythms and manage care during life-threatening emergencies.
