Registered Nurse (RN) - Corrections

**Title** Registered Nurse – Correctional **Requirements** - Current New York State RN license and registration - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification - Minimum of 1 year nursing experience - Experience supervising or mentoring Graduate Nurses, LPNs, and direct care staff preferred - COVID-19 vaccination required (medical exemptions only) **Roles & Responsibilities** - Provide direct nursing care for incarcerated adults. - Conduct health assessments and develop nursing care plans. - Implement treatments and participate in case-finding activities. - Engage in health teaching and work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams. - Maintain professional boundaries and provide hands-on care only when medically appropriate. - Work independently in a correctional primary care/urgent care/ER-type environment. **Compliance / Notes** - State criminal history background check required before start. - Required documents at time of submittal: SSN, DOB, RTO (must be presented at time of submittal). - Returning staff rule: must have been away from any NY State facility for 2 years to return. - Accepts first-time travelers and local travelers at the same rate.
