About the role
**Title**
Cardiac Telemetry Nurse - Telemetry
**Schedule**
Shift: Nights — 36 hours only
**Assignment Details**
Assignment Length: 13–26 weeks accepted
**Requirements**
- Minimum 2 years cardiac floor experience required
- Traveler experience required unless candidate has >24 months cardiac experience
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications required
- Experience in cardiac telemetry/telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
- PCU/Stepdown/IMC care experience, including post-MI and pre/post cardiac cath care
- Proficient in sheath removal and femoral sheath management
- Ability to manage and titrate cardiac drips
- Chest tube management expertise required
- Non-invasive airway support experience (CPAP/BIPAP, nasal cannula)
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start for this specialty
- NC or Compact license pending acceptable for submission
**Roles & Responsibilities**
- Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry to identify changes in patient status
- Provide nursing care for adults and geriatrics with cardiac and vascular diagnoses
- Administer prescribed medications and adjust dosages based on patient response
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
- Educate patients and families regarding cardiac conditions and management strategies
**Compliance / Notes**
- Weekend requirement: Approximately 4 weekends per 4 weeks (flexible)
- Time-off policies: Strict RTO rules apply; up to 7 days RTO auto-approved (no holidays), no RTO during first week, all RTO must be pre-approved
- Disaster response: Contract staff expected to work as Storm/Hurricane Team during catastrophic events
- Pre-start modules required (approximately 8–10 hours); complete prior to start
