Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical

Schedule

Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00 - 07:00). Every other weekend required.

Assignment Details

Contract length: 13 weeks, with a maximum RTO of 7 days. Average daily census of 48 patients, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6.

Requirements

• 1 year of nursing experience required; first-timers accepted.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Experience in a renal medical-surgical setting preferred.
• Proficiency in Epic electronic medical record system required.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a medical-surgical unit.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor patient status and report any changes to the healthcare team.
• Document patient care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.

Compliance / Notes

Full compliance is required to start on time. If not compliant by the start date, assignment may be pushed back by 2 weeks due to orientation schedule. Travelers are expected to work one major holiday if it falls within their assignment period.
