Registered Nurse – Ortho Trauma/General Surgery

Shift: 12hr 18:45 - 07:15

Assignment Details

36 or 48 hr contracts accepted, with the option for longer contracts ranging from 13-26 weeks. Floating to similar units and alternate care locations is required. Every other weekend is mandatory. No call required. Patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:5-6.

Requirements

• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Ortho/Neuro/Trauma experience required
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required
• Charge experience preferred
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients with severe injuries to bones, joints, and soft tissues.
• Monitor and manage patients with traumatic brain and spine injuries.
• Assist in the assessment and treatment of neurological trauma and nerve damage.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Utilize electronic medical record systems for documentation and communication.

Compliance / Notes

RTO after booking is not allowed, and any call-offs or additional RTO on unit may lead to cancellation. Contract staff may be assigned to work during catastrophic events or disasters, and parking details will be provided.
