Registered Nurse – Palliative Care

Schedule

36 or 48 hours, D/E/N rotating shifts, including weekends, holidays, and on-call as needed.

Assignment Details

This position is within a unit specializing in intensive symptom management for patients at the end of life, along with general medicine overflow.

Requirements

• NYS RN License
• 2 years of recent palliative or acute med/surg experience
• BLS from AHA
• Experience with patient-controlled analgesia pumps or CHPN certification highly desired

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care for patients with complex needs and their families in crisis.
• Perform comprehensive assessments to advocate for patients who may be unable to communicate their needs.
• Deliver effective IV skills and wound care as necessary.
• Manage and monitor patient-controlled analgesia pumps effectively.
