Registered Nurse – Neurosurgery

Schedule

Rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays, with the possibility of on-call and callback duties.

Assignment Details

36 or 48 hours per week.

Requirements

• New York RN License required
• Two (2) years of experience in a stepdown or progressive care unit
• BLS certification
• Telemetry experience
• High acuity stroke and neurosurgery experience required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Experience with Q1 neuro checks, EVDs, lumbar drains, subdural drains, hemodynamic monitoring, and seizure management is ideal

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to diverse patient populations in a neurosurgical unit
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality care
• Monitor patients for neurological and hemodynamic stability
• Administer medications and therapies as prescribed
• Conduct thorough assessments and document patient care accurately
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and care processes
