Labor and Delivery Nurse

Schedule

3 weekend shifts per contract; 2 call shifts every 6 weeks.

Assignment Details

Contract Length: Typically ongoing; average daily census of 15; 1:1-2 nurse-to-patient ratio; 16 labor and delivery beds with a 6 bed triage area.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience required; 1st timers not accepted.
• Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, NRP; AWHONN Intermediate preferred.
• Experience with labor (vaginal delivery), C-sections, multiple births, postpartum hemorrhage, and pregnancy-induced hypertension.
• Must be proficient in Epic EMR system.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to neonates, infants, and adults during labor and delivery.
• Assist in managing labor progression and performing necessary interventions.
• Monitor patient health and respond to emergencies as needed.
• Support postpartum care and education for new parents.

Compliance / Notes

Full compliance is required to start on time; please be aware that background checks and drug screens are part of the requirements. RTO is a maximum of 7 days, with blackout dates during Spring Break (April 4th-12th). If a major holiday falls within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work it.
