Registered Nurse – Psychiatric Emergency Room

Schedule

Straight Nights, Holidays/On-Call/Callback/Charge per unit needs, 48 hours/week only.

Assignment Details

No telehealth required.

Requirements

• New York State RN License
• BLS Certification (AHA)
• Minimum 2 years of experience

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake assessments through interviews with patients and their families to gather case history.
• Plan and provide nursing care for patients.
• Make nursing diagnoses of medical and emotional status and recommend treatment options.
• Consult with psychiatrists and other behavioral health staff to design appropriate treatment plans.
• Administer and monitor reactions to psychotropic drugs and other medications.
• Arrange further medical attention as necessary.
• Assist clients in understanding emotional disturbances and the need for treatment.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for staff and patients.
• Document patient information accurately and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Perform administrative tasks including filing and completing progress notes.
