Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical

Schedule

12-hour shifts from 06:45 to 19:15. Every other weekend required. Must be able to work holidays.

Assignment Details

36 and 48-hour contracts accepted. Will accept longer contracts of 13-26 weeks. Call required as needed. Float required to similar units and alternate care locations.

Requirements

• BLS certification required
• 2 years of nursing experience required
• Charge nurse experience preferred for night shift travelers
• CPI certification preferred
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a general medical/surgical setting
• Manage heparin drips and wound vac dressing changes
• Administer high flow oxygen and assist with limited short-term BiPap respiratory support
• Maintain a nurse-patient ratio of 1:6
• Attend required team meetings, including monthly meetings and additional meetings for night shift staff
• Participate as a team member during catastrophic events, mass casualties, or disasters
