Job Description

This position is for a Registered Nurse with experience in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) or Progressive Care Unit (PCU). The nurse will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to individuals with various diagnoses, including but not limited to neuro, cardiac, trauma, and respiratory conditions.

Unit Details

• Common Diagnoses: Neuro, Cardiac, Trauma, Respiratory conditions such as COPD, DKA, Sepsis, Myocardial Infarction, CV stepdown, and post-operative care.
• Specialty Equipment: Temperature pacers, chest tubes, arterial lines, BiPAP, and Neptune Vapo systems.
• Ventilator Support: Management of chronic ventilator patients who are unable to wean, with assistance from respiratory therapy.
• Patient Demographics: Adults aged 18 years and older.
• Unit Capacity: 64 beds, including 15 designated neuro beds.

Shift Information

Shifts will be from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM. Note that block scheduling is not guaranteed, and flexibility may be required to float between units as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of experience in IMCU or PCU.
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
• Active New York RN license and verification through NURSYS report.
• Experience with EMR systems, particularly EPIC.
• Ability to provide documentation of travel experience.
• Drivers license with an address matching demographic information is required.
