Registered Nurse (RN) - IMCU

Job Description

The role involves working in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) with a focus on providing high-quality care to patients with varying diagnoses. The nurse will work with a team to manage patient care across several medical conditions.

Unit Information

• Unit: IMCU
• Common Diagnoses: Neuro, Cardiac, Trauma, Respiratory issues such as COPD, DKA, Sepsis, Myocardial Infarction (MI), CV stepdown, and post-operative care.
• Specialty Equipment: Temp pacer, Chest tubes, Arterial lines, BiPAP, Neptune Vapo.
• Ventilator Care: Knowledge in managing chronic ventilators, with assistance from Respiratory Therapy.
• Patient Demographics: Care provided to adults aged 18 and older.
• Number of Beds: 64 beds, with 15 designated Neuro beds.

Shift Details

Shifts are scheduled from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM. Please note that block scheduling cannot be guaranteed, and floating to other units may be required.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in IMCU or PCU.
• Experience with electronic medical records, specifically EPIC.
• Current certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
• Valid driver's license with an address that matches demographic information.
• NURSYS Report for license verification with an active New York RN license and all other RN licenses.

Scrub Color

Navy Blue scrubs are required for this position.
