Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Unit

ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in critical care nursing, particularly in the areas of ICU, SICU, CTICU, Trauma ICU, MS ICU, or Neuro ICU.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients in a fast-paced ICU environment.
• Utilize advanced skills and equipment, including CRRT and Prismaflex.
• Assist in the management of patients with complex cardiovascular conditions and post-surgical care.
• Monitor and assess patients' conditions, implementing appropriate interventions as necessary.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Participate in patient education and support during recovery and rehabilitation.
• Float to various units as needed, excluding Behavioral and ER units.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in an ICU setting is required; 4-5 years preferred.
• Documented experience in travel nursing is essential.
• Current certifications: AHA ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS.
• Active RN licenses in New York and all other active states must be verified through a NURSYS report.
• Strong experience in handling CRRT and Prismaflex is required.
• Cardiovascular experience is highly preferred.

Unit Specifics

• Unit: ICU with 42 beds, divided into Neuro/Med, CTICU, and Surg/Trauma sections.
• Common patient diagnoses include strokes, sepsis, respiratory failure, and post-surgical care.
• Utilization of specialized equipment such as IABP, Ventriculostomy, and ICP monitoring is required.

Shift Details

• Shift: 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM.
• Block scheduling is not guaranteed.
• Scrub color for the unit is navy.
