Minimum Qualifications

Possession of a current Louisiana Registered Nurse license or a temporary permit or multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state to practice as a registered nurse plus one of the following:

Three years of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR

A bachelor's degree in nursing plus two years of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR

A master's degree in nursing or public health plus two years of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR

A doctorate in nursing or public health plus one year of experience as a licensed registered nurse.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties: 
 As a RN Supervisor A, the incumbent will support clinical operations by:

  • Providing direct supervision to assigned registered nursing staff, including determining work assignments, reviewing work, approving leave within delegated authority, monitoring performance, completing required performance evaluations, and supporting staff development.
  • Develops, maintains, and monitors staffing plans to support continuous 24/7 BHCC operations. 
  • Provides and oversees comprehensive nursing assessment and triage of individuals presenting with behavioral health, substance use, co-occurring, and potential medical needs.
  • Obtains and evaluates vital signs, health history, medication information, signs and symptoms, risk factors, and other clinical information within the registered nurse scope of practice.
  • Monitors nursing documentation and service delivery for completeness, timeliness, quality, and compliance with agency, professional, regulatory, contractual, and program requirements.
  • Monitors adherence to BHCC nursing protocols, observation requirements, medication procedures, infection-control practices, emergency procedures, and clinical workflows.

Position-Specific Details:
Location: This position is located at SCLHSA's Behavioral Health Crisis Center (BHCC), located in Thibodaux, LA. 
Appointment Type: Probationary Appointment 
Compensation: The actual starting salary depends on the education and experience of the selected applicant.
