Qualifications
Education
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an Associate Degree, Diploma, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Licensure
- Must possess and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice or hold a valid compact RN license, as applicable.
- Must meet all state Board of Nursing requirements.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire.
Certifications
The following certifications may be required based on the department, specialty, or unit assignment, or must be obtained within the timeframe established by the department:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC)
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
- Certified Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurse (CPHON)
- Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization (PEARS)
- S.T.A.B.L.E. Program Certification
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certification (C-EFM)
- Additional unit-specific certifications as required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during scheduled shifts.
- Ability to perform physical activities including gripping, reaching, bending, kneeling, twisting, and squatting as required to perform job duties.
