About the role

Cordial Health is seeking a compassionate and skilled Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Physician Assistant with psychiatric experience to provide on-site behavioral health care throughout Northern New Jersey.

This part-time position offers a consistent three-day-per-week schedule, meaningful patient relationships and the independence to practice with extensive clinical and operational support.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations, consultations and follow-up visits
  • Diagnose and manage psychiatric and behavioral health conditions
  • Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans
  • Prescribe, monitor and adjust psychotropic medications
  • Evaluate treatment response, medication effectiveness and side effects
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, therapists, social workers and families
  • Participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning
  • Educate residents, caregivers and staff regarding psychiatric care
  • Provide compassionate, trauma-informed and resident-centered treatment
  • Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation


Requirements

  • Board-certified PMHNP-BC or Physician Assistant with significant psychiatric experience
  • Active and unrestricted New Jersey professional license
  • Active DEA registration required
  • Strong psychiatric assessment, diagnosis and psychopharmacology skills
  • Ability to manage a psychiatric caseload independently
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
  • Geriatric, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, long-term care or post-acute experience preferred
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record systems preferred
