The University of Arizona, Campus Health Service (CHS) seeks a qualified candidate for the position of part-time Nurse Practitioner. The Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner position is responsible for working with Campus Health Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to provide primary care to eligible University of Arizona students and staff. This position is focused on medical care in Campus Health Services' (CHS) Urgent Care area.

Duties & Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care including examinations, perform essential office procedures, order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe and administer medications, and make referrals for ambulatory care patients.
- Respond to medical emergencies in the facility.
- Complete timely and appropriate documentation for medical care and services.
- Provide technical directions and consultation for CHS nurses, medical assistants and other staff.
- Provide teaching/precepting opportunities for health care trainees if desired.
- Involvement in committees and teams as appropriate.
- Possibility of on-call duties with additional compensation.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
- Good oral and written communication skills, including with all levels of the institution.
- Progressive leadership skills: ability to develop, guide, motivate, and coach others.
- Advanced knowledge of skills in health promotion and maintenance, disease prevention, physical and psychosocial assessment and management of health and illness applicable to the care of college students.

Minimum Qualifications- Master’s degree from an approved school of nursing and completion of an approved adult or family practice Nurse Practitioner program.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Licensed to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Arizona or will be by date of hire.
- Board eligibility or certification in practice specialty.
- Must have current DEA Controlled Substance Registration Certification.
- Arizona prescriptive privileges required.
- Prior experience in urgent/emergency care setting.
- Experience with electronic medical records.
