McKenney Home Care is seeking experienced Caregivers, HHAs, and CNAs who are confident supporting clients living with dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, and other memory-related conditions throughout Sarasota and Charlotte County.

This position is best suited for caregivers who understand that dementia care requires patience, consistency, reassurance, observation, and the ability to adjust your approach based on the client’s needs and behaviors.

We Are Looking for Caregivers Experienced With: • Dementia and Alzheimer’s care
• Confusion, memory loss, and repetitive behaviors
• Agitation, anxiety, or resistance to care
• Redirection and reassurance techniques
• Maintaining routines and providing a calm environment
• Personal care including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Transfers, ambulation, and fall prevention
• Recognizing and reporting changes in behavior or condition
• Providing companionship and meaningful engagement
• Following detailed care plans and family preferences 

Scheduling Opportunities Private-duty schedules vary based on client needs and caregiver availability and may include: • Day shifts
• Evening shifts
• Weekend shifts
• Overnight shifts
• 12-hour shifts
• Short or split shifts  Hours cannot be guaranteed, and caregiver placement is based on experience, availability, location, and individual client needs.

Qualifications • Previous hands-on dementia or Alzheimer’s caregiving experience strongly preferred
• HHA certificate, Florida CNA license, or strong professional caregiving experience preferred
• Patient, calm, dependable, and able to respond appropriately to challenging behaviors
• Strong communication and observation skills
• Comfortable working independently in a private home setting
• Valid driver’s license
• Current auto insurance with you listed as an allowed driver
• Reliable transportation
• Hands-on CPR certification or willingness to obtain - online is not accepted
• TB screening within the last 6 months or X-Ray within the last 5 years
• Eligibility for Level 2 AHCA background screening https://info.flclearinghouse.com
• Dependable attendance, clear communication, professionalism, and flexibility
